Edyta Jarząb: Radio as a space of resistance - a peformative lecture
at Studio 20

A performative lecture on how to create imaginary landscapes with sound, voice and radio waves, while exploring potential for personal and collective autonomous zones. The artist invites for a listening session of her previous works and introduces the ongoing research and sound collecting during her residency in Armenia.

Edyta Jarząb is a sound artist practicing deep listening as a starting point for sound activism, exploring the biopolitics of voice and its role as a bridge between private and public. Using radio waves, extended voice techniques, field recording and electronics - she creates audiospheres for her personal and collaborative performance works and installations. Passionate about the sonic environment, she is organising workshops and sound walks rooted in different schools of acoustic ecologies.

Co-founder of Radio Kapitał, a Warsaw based community radio station, where produces poetic radio plays and interventions and crafting DJ sets in which curates music from resistance cultures all over the world. She has collaborated with experimental studio WORM in Rotterdam

and the interdisciplinary platform Q-O2 based in Brussels. Lives in Sokołowsko - a village in the mountains, south of Poland.
