Radio Dinner with Jeannette Brabenetz

at Studio 20

On September 24, 2026, at 7 p.m., Studio 20 Collective invites you to a "Radio Dinner" with art historian, curator, author, and radio producer Jeannette Brabenetz.

During Jeannette's visit to Yerevan, we will gather at Studio 20 to dine together, listen to audio works, explore her radio and curatorial practices, and discuss art, memory, archives, and our times. Jeannette will share her experiences and insights regarding radio, and together we will reflect on radio as a space for art, coexistence, freedom, and mutual care.

Can radio become a place where everyone is not just a listener, but also a creator? A place where one can speak or remain silent; where another person's voice can foster a sense of intimacy and presence, and listening can become a shared act of creation?

Jeannette Brabenetz works as a freelance art historian, curator, author, and radio producer, and lives in Chemnitz and Berlin. Her work and research focus on East German and Eastern European art, art history, and the politics of memory, with a particular emphasis on the transformation of archives and collections as well as the relationship between private and public spaces in post-Soviet countries. After working in a museum for about 15 years, she launched the radio program “BETRIEBSGELÆNDE” in 2022: The program is a soundscape composed of archival material and original voices that explores questions regarding the transformation of spaces from private to public, from East to West—with all the possible overlaps and mutual influences—as well as the politics of accessibility—such as the structuring of access to political spaces, private collections, and places rendered inaccessible by war.
